Jan.14 New Year Karuta Competition

Jan. 14 Competition @Bethesda Elementary  School  If you can read Hiragana, you can attend Genpei-sen. (Free of charge to attend) All Genpei-sen attendees (first 50 players) will receive attending gift: Karuta cards from the Meiji period (more than 100 yeras old); Hyakunin isshu rice cockies; and Sushi-candy (first 30 people). Jan 14, 2018 US New Year Karuta Competition

We are planning to have the 2nd US New Year Karuta Comepetition on January 14, 2018 in Betehsda, Maryland. Gempei devision for beginners—2 people as a team Kyogi Karuta devision–equivalent levels as F, E, D classes in Japan’s official competition. More details will be posted in the future. Karuta practice November 2017

November  Karuta practice will be held on the following Sundays from 3 pm to 6 pm in Falls Church. Sorry we don’t have a practice on November 5 as our members will visit Detroit Museum for Kyogi Karuta Demonstration and lectures.
